Twenty officers from the National Police Service (NPS) have been recognised for their courage and dedication during the annual Chandaria Bravery Awards ceremony held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
The awards were presented by the Chandaria Foundation at the NPS Headquarters in a ceremony presided over by Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.
Kanja commended the officers for demonstrating bravery, discipline and integrity while carrying out their duties, saying their recognition reflects their willingness to go beyond the call of duty.
The Inspector General also thanked the Chandaria Foundation for its continued support in recognising excellence and courage among police officers. He said acknowledging bravery remains important in building a motivated and well-supported police service.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Manu Chandaria praised the officers for their commitment and courage in serving the country. He encouraged them to maintain their dedication and uphold the values of service and integrity.
Chandaria also reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to working with the NPS, highlighting a partnership that has lasted more than three decades.
He was accompanied by Chandaria Foundation representatives Patrick Weru and Isaac Jaabir during the ceremony.
The annual awards seek to recognise police officers who demonstrate exceptional courage and commitment in the line of duty.
