Bamburi Cement Plc has greatly broadened its yearly Ramadhan Food Drive, enhancing the effort to assist around 4,000 at-risk families in Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Machakos, and Nairobi counties, benefiting at least 30,000 individuals.

The food drive, now in its second year, has evolved into a significant community resource during the Holy Month.
While on the drive, Amsons Group Country Representative, Tawakal Rajab Sumba remarked, “This initiative is based on empathy and inclusiveness. By broadening our outreach to 30,000 people and venturing into regions like Matuga, we are strengthening our collaboration with communities and solidifying our enduring dedication to social impact.

For countless Muslim believers observing a fast from sunrise to sunset, the everyday Iftar meal serves as a moment of spirituality and community

For numerous low-income families, the issue of how to provide meals has grown more pressing. By aiming for 4,000 families, equivalent to almost 30,000 people, the 2026 initiative intends to guarantee that additional families can complete their fast with dignity instead of insecurity.

This year’s program has also expanded its reach by providing food assistance to Kenya Prisons facilities, orphanages, and children's homes, where food insecurity silently undermines their efforts.

The program, officially inaugurated at Afra Hall in Mombasa Town, marked the beginning of organized food distributions during the fasting period. Deliveries consist of crucial food items intended to support families during the sacred month.

Initiated in 2025 after the Amsons Group acquired the company, the Ramadhan Food Drive has developed into a key corporate social responsibility initiative. More than just figures, it signifies a thoughtful transition to organized, ongoing community assistance in areas where Bamburi Cement functions
