The DCI Volleyball Queens KVF 2025  kicked off their Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women’s League campaign in style, winning all three of their opening matches at the Nyayo Indoor Arena.

Over the weekend, the detectives proved too strong for Nairobi Prisons, Kenyatta University, and Young Spykers, delivering dominant performances that set the tone for the season.

A Commanding Kickoff

The season opener on Friday, December 12, 2025, saw DCI face Nairobi Prisons. With Mercy Iminza and Sarah Namisi controlling the court through exceptional defensive skills and precise attacks, the Queens ran out comfortable winners in straight sets, 25-10, 25-14, 25-19.

The match also celebrated the return of Jemimah Siang’u and Marion Indeche, both making comebacks following maternity leave. The duo immediately impressed, delivering decisive points that energized the Nyayo Arena crowd.

Weekend Dominance

DCI carried their momentum into Saturday, December 13, dispatching Kenyatta University, and wrapped up the weekend with another straight-sets victory over Young Spykers on Sunday, December 14. Team captain Jane Mumbua led by example, orchestrating her team’s play and ensuring consistent performance across all matches.

For newcomers Kenyatta University, the weekend proved tough, as they fell 25-7, 25-8, 25-8, while Young Spykers succumbed 25-11, 25-14, 25-12.

Early League Leadership

After finishing second last season, the Queens now sit atop the KVF Women’s League table, having amassed nine points from their opening three fixtures.

Buoyed by their perfect start, head coach Patrick Sang is now setting sights on the Kipchumba Karori International Volleyball Tournament in Eldoret, scheduled for December 19–21.DCI’s flawless start has sent a strong message to their rivals: the Queens are determined to chase the title this season.

The coming matches, will be a key test of their resilience and consistency. One thing is clear: the DCI Volleyball Queens KVF 2025 campaign has already captured the attention of volleyball enthusiasts nationwide, and the excitement is only just beginning.
