French investors tour Nairobi Affordable Housing Project

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 13 – GulfCap Real Estate hosted a delegation of French firms at the Starehe Point Affordable Housing Project in Nairobi during the Africa Forward Summit, as Kenya seeks to attract more foreign investment into urban development and housing.

The visit focused on showcasing opportunities in large-scale housing, urban regeneration and infrastructure development within Nairobi’s growing real estate sector.

The delegation toured the Starehe Point project, which includes residential units, commercial spaces, sports facilities and social amenities targeting low and middle-income households.

According to GulfCap, the project has created more than 10,000 jobs and supported local manufacturing industries, including small businesses and Jua Kali artisans involved in construction and supply chains.

The firm said the development also includes youth training and internship programmes aimed at skills development.

“It is my distinct honor to host this high level French delegation at Starehe Point,” said Chris Ochieng, Chief Executive Officer of GulfCap Real Estate.

“This visit serves as a vital conduit for integrating French partnerships within our vision for large scale, sustainable urban living. We believe this represents a premier first mover opportunity for international firms seeking to anchor their presence within one of Africa’s most sophisticated growth corridors,” he added.

The French delegation said the project highlighted opportunities for partnerships in environmentally sustainable housing and integrated urban planning, as investors increasingly explore Kenya’s affordable housing and infrastructure market.
