Isuzu tops Kenya vehicle sales with 2,036 units in Q1

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 4 – Isuzu East Africa sold 2,036 vehicles between January and March, maintaining its lead in Kenya’s automotive market.
Data from the Kenya Motor Industry Association shows CFAO Mobility followed with 896 units, while Simba Corporation sold 287 and Tata Africa Holdings recorded 204 units.
Other players included Scania East Africa with 110 vehicles, Salvador Caetano (32), Crown Motors (30), Inchcape Kenya (25), and Nelion Trading Limited (17).
Isuzu’s dominance has been driven by strong local assembly, particularly buses for the matatu sector, schools and government institutions.
Industry estimates place Isuzu’s market share at about 45–47 percent, ahead of CFAO Mobility, which handles the Toyota brand at around 34 percent, and Simba Corporation at roughly 10 percent.
