Kenya Clinches Overall Victory at 15th EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games in Uganda

Kenya emerges as the overall winner of the 15th edition of the 2025 EAC
Kenya crowned the overall champion of the 15th East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games, which concluded in Kampala, Uganda, December 16, 2025.
Team Kenya delivered an outstanding performance across multiple disciplines, finishing with a total of 20 medals, including six gold, six silver, and eight bronze.

Dominant Across Disciplines
Kenya showcased its sporting prowess in athletics, volleyball, tug-of-war, darts, and golf. The team particularly shone in athletics and volleyball, securing key victories that underscored its dominance throughout the week-long competition.
In athletics, Kenyan lawmakers clinched gold in the 4x400m relay, 100m sprint, and 800m events, thanks to stellar performances from Kacheliba MP Titus Lotee and Busia women’s representative Catherine Omanyo. Moiben MP Phylis Bartoo also excelled, earning silver in the 1500m with a time of 8:37.8 and placing fourth in the 400m (1:55.1).

Titus Lotee contributed significantly to Kenya’s medal haul, winning two golds—one as part of the 4x400m relay team (4:19.8) and another in the 800m (2:28.9)—in addition to a silver in the 1500m (5:24.0), narrowly behind Acan Julius of Uganda.
Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), co-chair of the Bunge Sports Club, powered the men’s 4x400m relay to gold with a time of 50.8 seconds, alongside teammates David Ochieng, Dan Wanyama, and Bernard Kitur. Musyoka also claimed silver in the 100m, finishing just behind Bernard Kitur, who took gold in 11.8 seconds.
Volleyball Victory
Kenya also excelled in volleyball, defeating the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) to clinch gold on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The team remained unbeaten, driven by an impressive performance from Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama. Other key players included Paul Nzengu, Brighton Yegon, Duncan Maina, Victor Koech Mandazi, Alfred Mutai, Josses Lelmengit, Jackson Mandago, Robert Basil, Seki Ole Lenku, and newly elected UDA senator for Baringo, Vincent Chemitei.
Darts Success
The all-round success was capped with victory in the person-with-disabilities darts event on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Led by Westland MP Timothy Wanyonyi, Team Kenya retained the darts trophy for a third consecutive year.
The 15th edition of the games brought together parliamentary delegations from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and the East African Legislative Assembly under the theme “Advancing Integration Through Parliamentary Sports.”
