Kenya has officially launched the Africa Technology Leadership Conference (ATLC) 2026, a major continental forum expected to bring together more than 3,500 leaders to accelerate science, technology and innovation across Africa.
The conference, scheduled for October 22-23, 2026, at the Argyle Hotel in Nairobi, is being convened by the State Department for Science, Research and Innovation (SDSRI) with support from the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, INVIGENCE Ltd and Twinspen Limited. It will be held under the theme, “From Technology Ambitions to Strategic Advantage: Leveraging Science, Research & Innovation for Diplomacy, Capital and Execution.”
The event is expected to attract participants from over 30 countries, including heads of government, diplomats, investors, researchers, university leaders, multinational corporations, development finance institutions, innovation hubs and technology entrepreneurs.
Speaking during the launch, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Science, Research and Innovation, Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak, said Africa has reached a defining moment where science, research and innovation must become strategic drivers of economic transformation and global competitiveness.
He noted that the conference will provide a platform for governments, academia, researchers, investors and industry leaders to build partnerships, commercialise research, stimulate investment and strengthen technology diplomacy across the continent.
Delegates will participate in policy dialogues, specialised workshops, technology showcases, investment forums and collaborative sessions aimed at producing practical recommendations through the ATLC 2026 Communique.
INVIGENCE Ltd Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kenneth Rotich said the conference marks a shift from developing ambitious digital strategies to implementing solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
He said the gathering will unite leaders responsible for financing, governing and deploying technology to ensure research and innovation translate into investments, institutions and improved livelihoods.
Twinspen Limited’s Brian Mung’ei said the conference will strengthen Nairobi’s position as Africa’s leading destination for technology leadership dialogue while reinforcing Kenya’s role as a regional hub for innovation, research collaboration, investment and technology diplomacy.
Registration for delegates, exhibitors and strategic partners is now open, with organisers expected to announce additional speakers and programme details in the coming weeks.
