Macron Announces €23 Billion Private Investment in Africa

French President Emmanuel Macronhas announced a major wave of private sector investment worth €23 billion aimed at boosting development projects across Africa, describing the move as a milestone in strengthening economic ties between Africa and Europe.

In a statement shared on social media and translated from French, Macron said €14 billion of the total investment package will come from French companies, underscoring France’s expanding role in African markets.

“When Africa succeeds, Europe succeeds, and vice versa!” Macron said, emphasizing the mutual benefits of closer economic cooperation between the two continents.

The announcement was made in the context of the “Africa Forward” initiative, which Macron described as an action-oriented summit focused on turning commitments into concrete development projects and investment flows.

He said the initiative reflects a shift toward deeper collaboration in areas such as infrastructure, energy, innovation, and private sector growth, aimed at supporting long-term economic transformation across African countries.
