Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has commended the historic congregation of the Friends Church at State House, where over 5000 congregants were present, terming it as a step closer to recognising the role the church has played in the development of the country.
The national engagement, hosted by President William Ruto, marked the first time the Quaker community has held a gathering of such scale at the seat of government. The Friends Church has served Kenya since 1902, contributing to the country’s spiritual, educational, and social development.
As a lifelong Quaker, Mudavadi said he was privileged to be part of the organising team. He also joined the thousands of believers who congregated for the historic event.
“It was a powerful reminder of the role faith communities continue to play in shaping our values, strengthening national cohesion and inspiring hope.” he said
The PCS pointed out the importance of cooperation between the government, faith communities, and citizens in building ethical leadership, unity,and sustainable national development.
“Great nations are built not only through policies and institutions, but also through the values that shape their people.” he noted
He further appreciated the Friends Church Kenya for the ongoing intercession, the unwavering commitment to peace, and the tireless service to the nation.
