Nairobi United, Mara Sugar play thrilling draw in midweek league encounter

NAIROBI, Kenya, April 1, 2026 – Alex Imbusia scored a last gasp equaliser as Mara Sugar nicked a 1-1 draw against Nairobi United in a midweek Kenya Premier League encounter at the Kasarani Annex on Wednesday evening.

Naibois had taken the lead in the 66th minute through Kevin Wang’aya, the youngster netting his second goal for the club since joining in January this year.

The FKF Cup champions seemed poised for the three points until Imbusia showed up in the 88th minute with the leveller.

The result leaves the capital side in 10th position with 35 points from 25 games — four more than the sugar millers who sit in 11th.
