Police have ramped up the campaign against narcotics trafficking in Meru and Kilifi counties, seizing cannabis sative worth approximately KSh1.19 million.
At Igembe North police stations, officers from Laare Police Station detectives received and acted on information indicating that narcotics were being transferred from Kangeta into Laare Township.
Officers mounted an ambush in Mariri to observe a motorcycle rider suspected of carrying narcotics with an additional passenger in an unregistered motorbike.
The rider turned his machine around and sped away after being signaled to halt. Before continuing their flee on foot, the suspects dropped the two sacks.
