Red Bull Dance Your Style 2026 Edition Epic Finale Held at KICC – Next Up Zurich World Finals!

The 2026 edition of Kenya’s Red Bull Dance Your Style – the world’s biggest urban street dance competition, came to a close at an electrifying national finals event held at the Tsavo Ballroom, KICC (24th May 2026). 

The national finals event brought together 16 of Kenya’s top street dancers in a series of intense head-to-head battles for the coveted Red Bull Dance Your Style Kenya Champion title. Zack The Great emerged victorious after a thrilling final showdown against first runner-up King of Smiles — a battle that showcased style, creativity, confidence and individuality at the highest level of street dance.

Winner Zack The Great says, “Being crowned the Red Bull Dance Your Style 2026 champion is something truly special. I am grateful for the support, the love from the community and the opportunity to represent something bigger than myself,” adding, “Kenya is full of energy, culture and incredibly talented dancers, so being recognized among such amazing talent means a lot to me. Sharing the stage with so many gifted dancers was already an honor on its own. It honestly feels like an answered prayer and a huge blessing.”

Zack The Great is now set to represent Kenya at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals which will take place in Zurich, Switzerland on 24 October 2026. Kenya will be joining 51 countries participating in this year’s global competition, with the national champion earning an all-expenses-paid trip to Switzerland for the prestigious world showdown. 

Zack says, “I think the biggest challenge will be adapting to a completely new environment and atmosphere. It will be my first time competing on such a major international stage, and the energy will definitely be different from what I’m used to. Since I’ve never been to Zurich before, understanding the crowd, the vibe, and the overall experience will take some adjustment. But I also see that challenge as an opportunity to grow, evolve and push myself even further as a dancer.

Zack the Great started dancing more than 10 years ago and began taking it professionally 4 years ago. His style is influenced by a combination of street vibes, hiphop and popping with a lot of his growth coming from dance ciphers, street sessions and learning from different dancers and communities around him. 

This year’s Kenya national finals also featured appearances from globally recognised dancers including MT Pop – the 2024 Red Bull Dance Your Style World Champion; Luwam – finalist at the 2024 World Finals; Luciano – the 2025 Netherlands Champion and global finalist; alongside Verb – a two-time South Africa Champion (2022 & 2023) and global finalist (2023). The esteemed group of global dancers also gave workshops to Kenya’s community members while here in Nairobi. Their involvement and presence reiterates Red Bull Dance Your Style’s stature as a global platform while highlighting Kenya’s rapidly growing street dance culture on the global stage. 

The 2026 edition marked the sixth Kenyan edition of the global competition and officially launched in March this year under the energetic hosting of Azeezah Hashim. Since then, qualifying rounds held in Mombasa and Nairobi spotlighted some of the country’s most exciting emerging street dance talent, all culminating in the grand finale event at KICC. 

Red Bull Dance Your Style is a unique competition that gives the crowd the power to judge and decide who wins simply by voting. Dancers are expected to bring their best attitude, creativity and freestyle vibe to the music the DJ plays and impress the crowd. All urban dance styles are accepted apart from break dancing – which isn’t allowed. After each battle, spectators hold up wristbands with red and  blue LED lights to choose a winner. You have the power to decide on the champion who will represent Kenya in the world final.

Red Bull Kenya continues to champion and elevate dance talent in Kenya by creating platforms that nurture local dance communities while exposing them to global opportunities through the international mixed-style dance competition, now in its sixth Kenyan edition.
