Ruto Hosts Duma Boko After Africa Forward Summit at State House

President William Ruto on Wednesday hosted Duma Boko at State House Nairobi following the successful conclusion of the Africa Forward Summit.

The two leaders held bilateral talks focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Kenya and Botswana, with discussions centering on trade, ICT collaboration, air transport agreements, and regional cooperation.

“I thanked him for accepting my invitation to our country for the summit, and for the friendly and brotherly relations between our two nations,” President Ruto said in a statement in his X account.

President Ruto emphasized that Kenya and Botswana share long-standing relations anchored on trade and economic cooperation.

“Kenya and Botswana have had long-lasting ties anchored on trade and economic cooperation, especially agreements on collaboration in ICT, expansion of bilateral air services and avoidance of double taxation,” he added.

The Kenyan Head of State also used the meeting to seek Botswana’s support for Kenya’s candidate for the International Criminal Court (ICC) judge position, Supreme Court Justice Njoki Ndung'u.

“Also requested my brother President to support Kenya's candidate, Supreme Court Justice Njoki Ndung'u, for the position of International Criminal Court judge,” Ruto stated.
