Kayole Starlets have bolstered their squad for the second leg of the Kenya Premier League by signing three talented players from the Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars, aiming to improve their league standing and compete fiercely for a top-three finish.

The new recruits—Sonia Wambui (goalkeeper), Calta Nasambu (striker), and Naomi Nanjala (position)—bring proven skills and match experience from their previous stint with Barcelona Ladies SC of Laikipia, a club competing in the National Super League (NSL). Their addition strengthens critical positions in the Starlets’ lineup as the team looks to climb the league table.

The trio also participated in the Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars international bootcamp in Huesca, Spain, last September, gaining exposure to advanced training techniques, tactical awareness, and high-level competitive football. They also represented the Central Region with Barcelona Ladies SC during Season Four of Chapa Dimba at the national finals in Kisumu.

“I’m excited to join Kayole Starlets. Playing in the Premier League is a dream, and joining mid-season gives me the chance to immediately contribute to the team’s performance. Safaricom Chapa Dimba has been instrumental in preparing me for this level of competition,” said Naomi Wanjala.

Joining them are Eunice ‘Bobi’ Nabwoba and Praxedes Shivikhwa, alumni of Chapa Dimba who represented Wiyeta Girls in Season Four. Nabwoba also brings international match experience from her time at Amus College in Uganda, further strengthening the Starlets’ competitive edge.

“Chapa Dimba goes beyond youth tournaments; it creates competitive players ready for professional leagues. These new additions will be vital for our push to finish strongly this season,” said Kayole Starlets coach Joshua Sakwa, during a training session at Calvary Sports Grounds, Nairobi.

Safaricom Chapa Dimba has consistently produced league-ready talent. Over 30 players from the latest season have joined clubs in the National Super League and Kenya Premier League, including Emily Morang’a (Kenya Police), Duncan Omala (Nairobi United), Derick Okech (Shabana FC), Austine Odongo (Shabana FC), Stanley Waswa (Ulinzi Stars), Bryton Otieno (Gor Mahia), Brian Aroko (Tusker Youth), Lorrine Illavonga (Ulinzi Starlets), Mercy Akoth (Vihiga Queens), Swaumu Masungo (Kibera Soccer Women), Marion Serenge (St. Noa – Uganda), and others.

Previous alumni who have excelled professionally include Atem Kato (Penn State Nittany Lions), Jentrix Shikangwa (Simba Queens), Brain Enock Wanyama (Tatung FC, Taiwan), Benson Omala (Nairobi United), David Majak (Kariobangi Sharks), Jane Hato (Master’s University), Judith Osimbo (Ulinzi Starlets), and Cynthia Livondo.

Currently in seventh place, Kayole Starlets aim to leverage their reinforced squad to challenge for a top-three finish and solidify their position as one of the league’s competitive sides.

Safaricom Chapa Dimba, targeting youth aged 16–20, continues to transform grassroots talent into league-ready players, fostering the next generation of Kenyan football stars through competitive tournaments and professional exposure.
