Safaricom Targets Diaspora, Cross-Network Users in New #MyOneApp Upgrade

Safaricom has rolled out new improvements to its My OneApp platform aimed at enhancing access for diaspora customers, roaming users, and subscribers using other mobile networks.

The latest upgrade allows customers to access the app seamlessly through Wi-Fi and non-Safaricom networks, eliminating previous connectivity limitations experienced outside the company’s direct network coverage.

The move is expected to boost convenience for users seeking uninterrupted access to key services such as money transfers, bill payments, loans, savings, and account management while travelling or living abroad.

Safaricom has additionally introduced biometric verification features including Face ID and fingerprint authentication to strengthen account security and simplify transaction approvals.

The telecommunications company says the new authentication system replaces the earlier PIN-only login process, offering customers a more secure and user-friendly digital experience.

Users can activate the feature through the app settings under the biometric authentication option using their M-PESA PIN verification.
