10 years after opening office in Tanzania, Uber’s permanent exit happened on January 30th 2026. This happened after what Uber cited as “unworkable regulatory environment”.
This isn’t the first time they are stepping away from Tanzania. Back in April 2022, Uber had suspended operations for 10 months due to hindering regulations.
