Wimbart Unveils New Podcast Series Spotlighting Africa’s Leading Tech Voices

Wimbart, a Public Relations agency specialising in business and technology sectors across Africa and emerging markets, has launched ‘The Wimbart Way’ – its first original podcast series.

Created ahead of the agency’s 10th anniversary in 2026, the video podcast is a definitive, open and practical resource for understanding the mechanics of storytelling, reputation management, and the business of media in Africa.

Hosted by Jessica Hope, founder and CEO of Wimbart, ‘The Wimbart Way’ first season hosts some of Africa’s most prominent founders, investors, operators, and media leaders to explore how narratives are built, challenged, and sustained – and how strategic communications can shape outcomes for African tech companies at every stage of growth.

Across the series, guests unpack the difference between “noise” and real news value in lively, bold, often brutally honest no-holds-barred discussions. Subjects covered across the 11-episode first series include the pressures of fundraising and reputation management, and the operational realities of African media houses – from how editorial decisions are made to the commercial realities of running a publishing business.

The inaugural season includes in-depth conversations with Iyin ‘E’ Aboyeji [Founding Partner, Future Africa], Dr. Omobola Johnson [Senior Partner, TLcom Capital], Tunde Onakoya [Founder, Chess in Slums], Tomiwa Aladekomo [CEO, Big Cabal Media], Uzoma Dozie [Founder and CEO, Sparkle MFB], Abasi Ene-Obong [Founder and CEO, Syndicate Bio], Adia Sowho [Non-Executive Director, Sankore Investments, Former Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria], Aanu Adeoye [Correspondent, Financial Times], Kenneth Igbomor [Markets Editor, West Africa, CNBC Africa], Tage Kene-Okafor [Technology Journalist, TechCrunch], and Emeka Ajene [Founder and CEO, Afridigest].

Speaking on the launch, Jessica Hope says, “The Wimbart team have spent ten years helping International and African tech companies tell their stories, and has seen first-hand how powerful good storytelling can be – and how damaging it is when done badly.

“We wanted a space where founders, investors, operators, and media can speak freely about what actually works and what doesn’t. I cannot thank our first series guests for their time and [often brutally] honest insights into the communications and media landscape in African tech. Their opinions matter, they are valid, and we all have a lot to learn from them. This series is, first and foremost, a resource for the ecosystem, as well as a reflection of who we are as an agency – opinionated, technically-minded, plugged-in, and unafraid to ask difficult questions. In addition, it’s a time to reflect on who we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with over the past decade and how we gather ourselves as a collective to continue to improve storytelling for African tech.”

Having spent almost a decade crafting narratives for over 180 of the continent’s most ambitious companies, including M-KOPA, TLcom Capital, Verto, Ventures Platform and Luno, Wimbart is now codifying its institutional knowledge into a public platform.

The first episode of The Wimbart Way, featuring Iyin ‘E’ Aboyeji, is now available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, with new episodes released every two weeks from January 2026. The Wimbart Way was produced by Big Tech This Week.
